The New Features Of The KTM MY2017 Enduro Four Strokes

KTM is known to build some of the baddest and fastest off-road bikes all over the world. Clutch system

One of the main features individuals can enjoy in the KTM MY2017 line is its KTM-developed DDS clutch. The KTM-developed DDS clutch (damped diaphragm steel) with a wear-free steel basket and extremely heat resistant clutch plates makes for a considerably easier clutch action. In addition, it is fitted with a lighter basket, a re-designed inner hub and a pressure plate that provides a better oil supply and unsurpassed cooling which is actuated by Brembo hydraulics, the clutch ensures an easy operation and consistently precise control.

Engine management system

For its engine management system, the KTY MY2017 models have the state-of-the-art Keihin Engine Management System with electronic fuel injection. This features an all-new 42 mm throttle body which provides a more direct response. Not to mention, separate systems automatically take care of cold starts and idle adjustment. And, an optional map switch allows selecting a different power curve in mid-race for maximized grip.


With regard to its transmission, the MY2017 models have a 6-speed enduro gearbox with gear ratios specifically optimised to their individual power delivery. Plus, these models feature a gear sensor to sync up the engine’s power curve to the currently selected gear as well as the surface conditions.

Frame and subframe

The frames and subframes of the MY2017 is created from high-tech, lightweight chrome-moly steel. This increases handling, rideability, precise cornering, and excellent stability. The frames are wider to provide more cornering and track stability. Other than that, longitudinal stiffness is reduced by 30%, which results in better absorption of the impact energy from the suspension.

WP Split forks and PDS shock

Finally, the suspensions are also tweaked to provide optimal performance. As of now, the KTM MY2017 models are equipped with the all-new WP XPlor 48 upside-down fork is a split fork. The forks can easily be adjusted for compression and rebound by twisting the individual dials on top of the fork tubes. The PDS set-up is also redesigned to deliver the best possible mounting geometry, whih provides even more progressive damping.
